Hand Forged Steel And Copper Serving Spoons

Smith Shop Detroit

Made from hand-forged steel and hand-formed copper, each of these spoons—one slotted, one ladle-shaped, and one large serving spoon—is crafted individually by a member of Smith Shop’s gifted metalwork team in Detroit. The attention to detail—and the artful, curved shape of the spoons—is stunning. Hung on a kitchen wall, the spoons make the most handsome décor, but they are absolutely made to be used, too—each is hand-fastened with seven copper rivets to last a lifetime.

About the brand

Smith Shop Detroit was founded in 2012 by the talented wife and husband metalsmith team, Amy Weiks and Gabriel Craig, who were joined a few years later by a third master metalsmith, Adam Whitney. Known for their elevated take on heirloom kitchenware, Smith Shop’s products are made from hand-forged steel and hand-formed or fabricated copper; and designed and produced individually (again, by hand) in their 1,500 square foot studio in Detroit. Each year, the Smith Shop team has debuted new products to add to their growing line of kitchenware, while also expanding into home décor, jewelry, and accessories, working with not only steel and copper, but the custom fabrication of gold, silver, and brass. Smith Shop also offers metalworking classes, workshops, private lessons, and studio rentals in Detroit.
