The Wooden Palate

French Taper Rolling Pin

$50.00

The wood used to make this rolling pin was reclaimed from the Atlantic City Boardwalk—rare, South American hardwood, some of which is extinct today. Each piece has its own unique patterning from years of exposure to the salty air. The french taper on each end comes in handy for rolling out perfectly round circles of dough.

About the Brand

Ryan Silverman is a long-time woodworker, but he mostly worked on floors, ceilings, and furniture until he met chef Eileen O’Dea—his first few kitchen items were hand-made gifts for her. Now married and business partners, Ryan and Eileen work out of an airy Los Angeles studio, making rich, sturdy kitchen wares and furniture out of gorgeous reclaimed and American-grown wood. If there’s one word that best describes their entire operation, it’s integrity, which they achieve by staying high-touch with all of their pieces (if you need further proof, look to the “hand made” tattoo on Ryan’s knuckles).
