About the Brand
James Perse grew up in Los Angeles, spending plenty of time on the floor of his father’s famed boutique, Maxfield’s. His first product (the all-around-perfect baseball cap, launched in 1991) was designed specifically to be sold there. It wasn’t long before demand grew, and by 1994 he had started in on his ultra-soft everyday t-shirts; today, the minimalist, utterly wearable line includes clothing, shoes, and even furniture.
